Joe is currently the drummer for the hit musical Avenue Q, playing at New World Stages in New York City. He is also an educator in the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut area. Highly versatile in multiple styles of music, Joe covers territory from Broadway shows, to cabaret concerts, to club dates, in addition to offering challenging and positive private instruction.

Originally from Queens, Joe spent his formative years growing up in New Jersey. As the son of a photographer and a talented watercolor artist, the arts were thoroughly nurtured and encouraged in his home throughout his youth. He began receiving private instruction on drums and percussion at the age of eight and soon became involved with his public school music programs. In the 1990s, Joe was very successful on the high school level, earning top placement in ensembles such as the NJ All-State Jazz Ensemble and NJ All-State Wind Ensemble.

Joe went on to attend the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. It was here that Joe received ultra-intensive instruction from world-class drumset educator, Ed Soph. In the jazz program, Joe performed with prestigious ensembles such as the the Three O'Clock Lab Band and the UNT Zebras. He graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies Performance.

Joe also spent some time at sea, working in ship show-bands for both Carnival and Norwegian Cruise Lines. He worked aboard six different ships, covering The Bahamas, Hawaii, the entire Caribbean, Alaska, and Mexico.

Throughout his career, Joe's forte in music has been drumming for musical theater productions. His Broadway subbing credits include: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me, and Monty Python's Spamalot, as well as various Off-Broadway shows such as Altar Boyz. In 2006, Joe was the drummer for the Equity US national tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. In addition to these productions, Joe also is often at the drums for various Broadway benefit concerts.

Not limited to musical theater, Joe can be heard performing in a variety of New York area rock and jazz ensembles, playing for club dates and weddings, backing singer/songwriters and cabaret concerts.

As an educator, Joe teaches private students and also offers group instruction to school ensembles. In his lessons, Joe uses a massive resource library to custom fit the needs of individual students and strives to produce very noticeable results. As a student himself, Joe has studied with Tommy Igoe (Broadway's The Lion King, Art Garfunkel) since 1999 and attributes much of his own playing style to personal inspiration from Tommy.

Joe currently resides in Pleasantville, New York with his beautiful wife Giana, and dogs: Edna, Fred, Violet, and (Foster Dog) Lolly.
